One trick to improving the quality sleep is replacing the pillow you sleep on. But be warned as it is not as easy as popping into your local bedding store to buy one. There is a vast array of anti snoring pillows to choose from so how and where do you start? Hopefully, the information below will help:
Feather pillows are known to give a lot of support and tend to be fairly cheap, but feather pillows are not as resilient as some of the others.
Down pillows are resistant and fluffy. Down pillows tend to be a very good insulator and the material helps the air to circulate better. The point of this is to stop your head from getting cold or sticky which offers itself as a good choice for those who sweat whilst sleeping. But for this, down pillows are a little more expensive.
Always pay attention to the fill power when it comes to selecting down pillows. A fill power of 600 is recommended. Fill power refers to the space measured in cubic inches of each ounce of the compressed down material once it expands. The bigger the fill number, the fluffier the pillow will be.
Memory foam pillows are made from sensitive foam which fills the gap which is between the mattress and the neck. This should provide very good spinal alignment. The only thing to be wary of is that some people find memory foam pillows a little to firm. This can be good or bad depending on your preference.
Combo pillows are good if you are attracted to the thought of natural down, but wish to have something less expensive. Part feather and part down pillows provide firmness while representing good value.
Other considerations:
Try and choose 100 percent cotton with a high thread count.
If you normally sleep on your sides, a firm pillow should be considered. A medium firmness pillows is recommended for those who sleep on their back and a soft pillow is recommended for those who sleep on the stomach. If you are unsure which one is you, try to decide which position you usually fall asleep in.
It is recommended that you change your pillow between six months and twenty four months. Make a note of when you first started using your pillow so you can monitor the age.
In all aspects of life, it’s always nice to have the right equipment. Do your research and get the right anti snoring pillow and your nights will be more peaceful.
